The septum is represented in many cultures. It is the only facial that can be genuinely hidden with little to no detection. This piercing can be concealed with a Circular Barbell or septum retainer, a U-shaped piece of metal that can be flipped up into the nose. At the Axiom, we always pierce with a circular barbell to ensure that if you need to hide the piercing, you can.  The placement should be as far forward as possible between the ridge at the bottom of the Septum and the Septum bone. The average healing time is 12 to 24 weeks.
