A high nostril is a nostril piercing that is done higher on the nostril and placed just below the thicker cartilage on the side, and usually done in a set of matching piercings on each nostril. Often done with 20g or 18g, but can be done up to 12g. Best placed on the ridge, midway along the side of the nose. Although it is possible to heal the piercing with a ring or circular jewelry, the best option is stud-style jewelry, such as labret studs. The average healing time is 8 to 12 weeks.
