Piercing Groupings - Planning & Getting Body Piercing Basics EP90

In the 90th episode in our Youtube series Body Piercing Basics, DaVo covers planning out and getting a piercing grouping.

Show Notes:

  • consultation:

    • discuss your long term goals

    • have them access your anatomy

    • What can your budget handle

    • what can your body tolerate

    • What is your pain experience

    • Discuss the type of jewelry you plan on wearing

Piercing all at once Vs in stages

  • All at once

    • Get it all at once and heal once

    • sometime easier to match the placement

    • Pain may increase with each piercing

    • Often there is a discount

  • in stages

    • Doesn’t strain the body’s healing and immunity

    • longer healing period

    • the cost can be spread out over time

    • more time between to adjust to the pain

The Piercing

  1. Ask that your piercer marks all the piercings in the group

  2. Make sure that the placement fits your anatomy

  3. Make sure that the markings are evenly spaced

  4. make sure that there is space for the jewelry style

  5. pick the first piercing placement so that it won’t look out of place

  6. allow enough time between each piercing for the swelling to reduce and return to normal tissue.

  7. If you are doing a design or pattern make sure that the pattern is represented

  8. You should have room to adjust if the piercings migrate.
