I started blogging back in 1998 as a monthly report of what was going on in my life at the time or what I was thinking about at the time. It was the early days of the site and often looking back now, it all wasn't that interesting to begin with. There have been some vast holes over the years, in part because I my interest was pointed in a completely different direction and at times for one reason or another I just couldn't write or I felt the subject was too personal for the site. 

Over the last few years they have became more consistent and like everything I seem to continue to do, go through huge swings of intense production and then into periods of complete silence. I tend to only write when I feel the need to mainly because when I've tried to force myself to write daily or even monthly, the outcome isn't as good as I would like it to be. 

Right now I have three different blogs. That might seem a little odd for someone that doesn't seem to work on a schedule of any sort but I found that jumping from subject to subject was, well confusing. Since music and piercing kept coming up, I thought it best to divide up my blog into three parts and let the personal keep it's multi personality disorder.

The personal blog - Just as it have been from the beginning, a free form blog that takes many different shapes and covers many different subjects all depending on what  I take a fancy to or what peeks my interest. There are some that are reviews, some that are journal like reports and some that are flat out editorial opinions. 

The Piercing Blog - I wrote this essay on what I felt about the state of Body Piercing called The Art of being a Hold Out, DaVo's take on the state of modern piercing. In writing it I was reminded of the period in which I started piercing. Where there was a number of people in my formative years that took openly and willingly shared information regardless of weather you were a seasoned professional or a kid from Iowa in his early 20s. So I got the idea of writing a set of piercing facts that expanded some of the subjects I had already covered in my Piercing F.A.Q. Somehow that grew into my Piercing blog. The format is I pick a subject relating to piercing and then write a blog on it. It part advice column and part how with a focus on education.

The Spotify Playlist Blog - No way around it, Spotify has completely changed how I listen to music and one of the biggest draws to it was that you could create playlists and then share them. As a music fan, I'm continually intrigued by the thought that goes into creating a grouping of music. What is the connection and idea behind it? So I thought it would be interesting to pick a subject and base a playlist on it. Sometimes I let my obsession with music history pick the subject, sometimes it is the time of year or sometimes it's just about me trying to sharing some music I love.
